Jay and Lisa offer everything that a basic UPS store does, like copies, notary public, and sell office supplies. Today we finally got to sit down with Phil and Kelly to learn all about Southpaw’s Boulevard Story! We had such a fun time learning about their lives and how they were brought together to run this amazing sushi restaurant on the Blvd. They are truly passionate about the quality of their menu and we are so happy to have them as a staple in the neighborhood. If you have ever wondered why they decided to name it Southpaw, you’ll find out in this episode. Go and try our favorite rolls: Light the Beam and the Woodlake! They are closed Sunday/Mondays, open 4:30 -9 every other day, with 4:30-6pm being their Happy Hour. But GUESS WHAT, Tuesday’s they have Happy Hour Specials ALL DAY LONG.

Raynisha, a server at Colo’s, or self proclaimed Front of House Manager, shares all about the amazing soul food that the family owned restaurant serves up at 2326 Del Paso Blvd. She tells us all about the menu (her favorite is the Oxtail), the specialty desserts, customized Mimosa’s, and they even have vegetarian options too! The husband and wife team of Colo’s cook everything fresh daily! Colo’s is open Wednesday-Sunday 1-7pm and hosts events on weekends for ‘Colo’s After Hours’ with live musician performances, DJ Sets, Comedy Shows, and more!

Mario is the founder of We Are Sacramento, a Collective that highlights the people of Sacramento who are making positive change. They opened up a Gallery and event space at 1019 Del Paso Blvd this summer and have been bringing a lot more people over to Uptown Sacramento as he already had an established following from his business roots in Midtown and Oak Park. He has his own podcast called We are Sacramento and many other side projects that you’ll learn about as you listen to this jam packed episode!
We learned about all of the future visionary plans that he is bringing to Del Paso Boulevard through his new gallery space and about the upcoming CITY OF TREES fine art show opening Saturday, November 18th.
